Laser Processing

In addition to our state-of-the-art Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) and Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS) technologies, our complex coating systems can also be manufactured using innovative Plasma Assisted Reactive Magnetron Sputtering (PARMS) technologies.

Our product range includes coatings for highly reflective mirrors, beamsplitters, beam combiners and laser windows. It also includes coatings and substrates for ultrashort pulse components. All these products meet the highest cleanliness and cosmetic requirements, whether used as highly reflective mirrors or as optics for beam steering. Our laser components are characterized by an excellent laser induced damage threshold (LIDT). Broadband coatings with a consistent absolute reflection (>99.9 % over the entire wavelength range, between 320 and 2000 nm) also represent a standard for our own and for customer substrates. Beside the mentioned products, Materion Balzers Optics also offer for laser source devices: cavity mirrors, Brewster windows, pump lenses and a wide range of additional coating technologies such as the solderable coating Gelot™. These can all be applied of customers' substrates, components and crystals.
